This area of learning lays the foundation for long term wellbeing and contributes to children’s mental, social, economic and physical development.  It is important to us that our children enjoy healthy, active and fulfilling lives, they respond positively to challenges, are enterprising, risk takers and have good self-confidence and self-esteem.

Children learn about their changing bodies through our SRE curriculum and the importance of nutrition and rest for a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  The drug education curriculum teaches children how to be safe with medicines and we teach strategies our children can draw on in case of any dangers which may face them in the future as they grow into adults.  Our curriculum also explores diversity and interdependence, fairness, justice and democracy.  Through exploring cultures, beliefs, values, human rights and responsibilities children develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others, as well as a sense of belonging.

As they become more confident, children develop a growing self- awareness and a commitment to self-improvement so they can make informed decisions that lead to happy healthy lives.
