At Henry Cavendish Balham and Streatham we have one intake and all children will join the Reception class in September. All applications must be submitted online using via Pan London admissions. The applications process can start from the beginning of October and the deadline to submit your application is normally 15th January. All applications for a place in the Reception class must be made through the eAdmissions website (Pan London).
Parents will be notified via text and email towards the middle of April of the school place their child has been offered. Henry Cavendish is a Lambeth community school and therefore you do not have to complete any supplementary forms.

A WELCOME MEETING
Once you have been offered a place in our Reception class you will be invited to a short but important meeting. The meeting will outline what happens in a school day, you will meet staff who work at the school and staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
It is not necessary for your child to attend this meeting, as we will hold stay and play sessions for both you and your child at the beginning of term before they start school full time.
HOME VISITS
If you are offered a place at our Reception and you are new to the school (your child has not previously attended our nursery class), we will arrange a home visit before your child starts. Home visits will last approximately 30 – 45 minutes and you will be visited by one of our teaching staff who will be accompanied by an Early Years Educator.
During a home visit staff will:
1. Talk to you and your child
2. Complete the Pre Entry Forms
3. Answer any questions or concerns you may have
4. Confirm the date when your child will start
Parent Tours
We welcome all parents to come and tour our school to see how we do things. The tours are carried out by a member of our Senior Leadership Team and last approximately 45 to 60 minutes. You will be among either 3 or 4 sets of other parents.
