Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum
Intent
In the Early Years at Henry Cavendish, our intent is to build on the individuality of the unique child and to develop and nurture positive relationships with the children and their families, to help our children become happy, confident and independent learners who enjoy coming to school and are excited about learning. We place high emphasis on developing the children’s communication and language skills and plan carefully for vocabulary development across the curriculum. We value diversity and inclusivity and work hard to ensure that all children feel valued, included and represented. We are committed to the early identification of SEND and work closely with our inclusion team and families to ensure children are referred early for the appropriate support. Our intention is for all children to leave the EYFS happy, confident and motivated learners who are equipped with the learning toolkit they need to make a successful transition to KS1.
