Your DEI team

Meet the Team

At Henry Cavendish, we believe that every child must feel represented and valued.

Over time, we have made changes and additions to our curriculum, including its wider intent: Our curriculum will represent, value and celebrate the diverse society in which we live. We have also made significant investment into our school library and class book corners in a drive to increase diverse literature to 25% by 2030.

However, we know there is more to do.

Last year, we appointed two deputy DEI leads to work alongside Miss Watkins (Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning) and Ms Bibi (Inclusion Manager) to further embed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into our pupils educational, cultural and personal development:

Ms Jackson works at our Streatham site as a 1:1 teaching assistant. She is a passionate about DEI and has lead social groups, life skills and after school clubs that champion these values.

Madame Diallo works across both Henry Cavendish sites, teaching both the Early Years and French. She is also our Modern Foreign Languages lead. She has co hosted many Home Language breakfasts alongside Ms Bibi, bringing our community together to share their cultural heritage.

Together with the working party, this team takes a reflective and strategic approach to inspire our community to take collective action to make our school more inclusive and accessible.

Look out for termly DEI coffee mornings for a chance to meet the team and share ideas and thoughts.
